Greeting from District 80, I am State Representative Denise Ennett, District 80, I am proud to share updates on the work happening in our community and across Arkansas. Our district continues to grow, and thoughtful planning and responsible legislation remain top priorities to ensure Little Rock remains a strong, vibrant place to live, work, and invest.
One of the most exciting initiatives underway is the Deck Park Planning Committee effort focused on the proposed Little Rock Deck Park. This project represents a forward-thinking investment in connectivity, green space, and quality of life for residents. By exploring innovative ways to enhance infrastructure while creating usable community space, we are planning not just for today — but for the next generation.
Additionally, the Little Rock Port Authority continues to attract new businesses and expand economic opportunities. The Port plays a major role in job creation and industrial growth, strengthening our local economy and positioning District 80 as a competitive hub for commerce.
We are also seeing continued activity and opportunity around the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, as well as in the thriving communities along Highways 365 and 367. These corridors are vital to transportation, logistics, and residential growth, and they remain a key focus for infrastructure support and strategic planning.
We passed Act 313 (2025) addressing Accessory Dwelling Units — often referred to as backyard cottages or secondary living spaces. This law provides clearer guidance and flexibility for homeowners who wish to add a small additional residence on their property. ADUs can support multigenerational living, provide affordable housing options, and create additional income opportunities for property owners while maintaining neighborhood standards.
We also strengthened the Homestead Property Tax Credit with Act330 (2025) to provide meaningful property tax relief for Arkansas homeowners. This measure helps offset the tax burden on primary residences and helps ensure families can remain in their homes as property values change.
Additionally, a few years ago, Mayor Frank Scott Jr. enacted initiatives designed to make it easier to build and invest in areas south of Interstate 630. Those efforts helped streamline development processes, reduce barriers, and encourage revitalization in historically underserved parts of our city. The impact of that work continues to create opportunity, attract investment, and promote balanced growth throughout Little Rock.
District 80 is home to several outstanding nonprofits that serve residents across Little Rock. These organizations provide support in areas such as housing assistance, food security, workforce development, youth programs, and senior services. Their partnership is invaluable in addressing the real-life needs of our community, and I encourage residents to engage with and support these groups whenever possible.
Community engagement is essential.
Residents can:
• Attend local planning and community meetings
• Follow legislative updates during session
• Serve on community boards and committees
• Connect with my office directly with questions or concerns
• Support local nonprofits and volunteer initiatives
Your voice matters. The future of District 80 is shaped not only in the Capitol but right here at home — through active participation, informed discussion, and community collaboration.
It is an honor to represent District 80. Together, we will continue building a stronger, more connected Little Rock and a thriving Arkansas for generations to come.
